Step 2 of the first call for proposals launched on 29 February

The Interreg Sudoe Programme launches Step 2 of the first call for project proposals from the 29th of February 2016 to the 29th of April 2016.
Step 1 of the first call was open between the 21st of September and the 6th of November 2015. After the closure, the Joint Secretariat received 496 project proposals. Since then, the managing bodies of the programme have been working on the assessment of each application.

How does Step 2 work?
Beneficiaries that passed Step 1 must submit to Step 2 a full application form, developing the simplified application submitted to Step 1.

Step 2 of the first call for proposals is subject to the same conditions that applied to Step 1, described in the text of the first call’s announcement (in Spanish, French and Portuguese).
How to submit a project proposal
As with Step 1, the project proposals for Step 2 must be submitted twice:
- The online application, written in all the languages of the partnership, must be submitted through the online application system eSudoe before the 29th of April 2016 at 12 noon (Santander's local time).
- The paper application, written in the language of the lead beneficiary and unbound, must be sent by post to the Joint Secretary before the 29th of April at 11.59 pm (Santander's local time).
Technical meeting on Step 2
The Joint Secretariat will organise on the 16th of March in the afternoon and the 17th of March in the morning a technical meeting about Step 2 of the first call for proposals. Applicants that passed Step 1 will receive the invitation to this event by email.
The meeting, that will take place in Santander, will focus on technical aspects related to the submission of applications, as well as certain content issues in order to improve the quality of the proposals.

Contact with the Joint Secretariat
The Joint Secretariat will only reply to queries related to data entry on the eSudoe application system. It will not provide information to develop the technical content of the application, due to the competitive nature of Step 2.
Inquiries must be conducted by the lead benefiiary of the project proposal by email at [email protected] or by phone at +34 942 23 83 62, from Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm.
Assesment and approval
After the closure of Step 2, the managing bodies will analyse the admissibility and eligibility of the project proposals.
If the application does not meet an admissibility criterion of corrigible nature, the joint Secretariat will contact the lead beneficiary and fix a deadline of 20 days to rectify. In the absence of correction, the application will be presented to the Steering Committee as ineligible.
At this stage, the Programme will not provide information about the eligibility of the projects to the beneficiaries.
The assessment period will continue until the end of June 2016. The notification of the projects approved will take place immediately after the decision of the Steering Committee on the 30th of June 2016, in order to enable the projects to start their activity on the 1st of July 2016.
