Project summary
The ADDITOOL project, which is a continuation of the ADDISPACE project, will focus on an important industry sector: Tooling. On the basis of an in-depth analysis of the sector, the consortium will carry out a short, medium and long-term study of Metal Additive Manufacturing (FAM) determining, as precisely as possible, the needs of the tooling industry and taking stock of the maturity of all available technologies. Next, ADDITOOL will try to make the FAM processes more reliable through 4 pilot projects proposed by the SMEs associated with the project. These pilots will allow the different partners to acquire new skills in the different processes, and will allow to define exactly the rules and business models. The pilots will not only be demonstrators, but also concrete application cases in the tooling sector. They will be tested under real conditions of use, including a technical and economic study of each of them. Specific materials will be developed and characterized to better meet the needs of industrialists in the sector. Thanks to the increasing competencies of the partners, ADDITOOL will facilitate the transfer of knowledge to the entire SUDOE sector. New educational programs will be developed for engineering students as well as for industrialists or people in professional reconversion, with the support of national public organizations. Furthermore, the transfer of knowledge and skills from ADDITOOL will be based on greater mobility of professors, researchers and PhD students in order to pool this knowledge and share all good practices to advance together in multiprocess FAM.
