Categoría Management of projects approved
Many Sudoe projects worried about youth’s education on key topics for the future.
Among them, NANOSTAR has just launched its famous “Student’s challenges”. Through those activities, a group of young people, previously selected, will have the opportunity to design a nanosatellite which will be launched to the moon in order to make observations and measurements. During this adventure, multidisciplinary teams of students from the associated universities to the NANOSTAR project will introduce their solutions with the support of an expert and will have the opportunity to learn how to invent a spacial mission in a cooperative way. Applications to participate are open until 11th April, 2019. Conditions and forms are available on the project’s website: http://nanostarproject.eu
And while some of us are looking to the moon, the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University is hosting Maria Yañez, a researcher from PEMFC SUDOE project in order to get a pre-doctoral stay in the framework of the project. During this stay, Maria will work on an experimental and modeling study for producing hydrogen of fuel cell quality from industrial waste mixtures based on pressure swing adsorption (PSA).
In another hand, the TICHRON project organised an ideas contests among kids and teenagers who took part in surveys led in primary care consultations, external consultations and hospitalizations of the Marques de Valdecilla Universitary Hospital and the San Jose de Reinosa College, both in Cantabria (ES). The Information and Communication Technological Centre Foundation (CTIC) from Asturias, one of the partners of the project, was responsible for selecting the best ideas. The later, will develop an interactive pedagogical game to be used on mobile devices addressed to kids and teenagers with chronic deseases. The winners were: in category 3 to 6 years old , Alana Álvarez Tamayo and Iván González Pérez; in category 7 to 11 years old, Alejandra García Pérez and Evelyn García de Paula; in category 12 to 16 years old, Aida Salán Fresno and María Álvarez Tornero. The award ceremony took place at the San Jose de Reinosa College and the Health Research Institute of Cantabria (IDIVAL).
Congratulations to all the contestants of TICHRON! We wish to Maria a fruitful staying and a good luck to all the space braves!
