“To bring research closer to society” has been the objective of GHELP  kick off event in Pamplona (Navarra), on 25th September. More than 50 participants and local media atended the event which took place at the Research and Applied Medicine Centre (CIMA) to discover this amazing project which counts on 8 partners from 7 Sudoe regions whose cooperation remains essential to develop and to validate a genetic diagnosis panel for hearing loss.

GHELP panel will help to improve early diagnosis of a disease which affects one on 5 new born children  (OMS data). The event which was introduced by Jose Andrés Gomez Cantero, director of the Navarra Universitary Clinic, lead partner of the Project, counted also on the participation of the Public and Labour Health Institute of Navarra and the Association of people with hearing disability’s families from Navarra (EUNATE) whose cooperation was crucial to make this event accesible to people with this disability and to provide their opinions on the project and potential beneficiaries.

This was the first promotional event. Other regional events will take place soon in Oviedo, San Sebastian, Lisboa, Porto, Montpellier and Toulouse.
