"The participation of the Lisbon School of Health Technology (ESTeSL-IPL) as pilot project of the CLIMACT project led me into assume the role of “low carbon coordinator”, that is to say being the link between the school and the technical team of CLIMACT. Thanks to CLIMACT, I have the opportunity, with the academic community which includes teachers and students, to identify the solutions which can improve the environmental efficiency of our school. Thus, we contribute to reduce carbon emissions! My participation to the project helped me to work in network with other schools in Portugal, Spain, France and Gibraltar, which is very interesting since we share our experiences, ideas and good practices in very unique and rewarding moments. With CLIMACT, I developed knowledge and skills I can reuse whithin the scope of the Eco-Schools programme of which I am coordinator and also in other activities that I implement with my students as I am teacher of Environmental Health. This work makes energetic and environmental issues relied with health even more interesting and motivating!"

CLIMACT is a project financed in the Interreg Sudoe programme 2014-2020. Through the smart management of energy, the development of renewable energies and the change of practices, CLIMACT improves energy efficiency of education buildings. It implements also pedagogical activities with the children in order to raise awareness about the importance of the development of a low carbon economy among the youth.
