First webinar on Interreg volunteers
Categoría General
First webinars on the “Interreg Volunteer Youth” initiative brought around 50 people together.
First webinars on the European Interreg Volunteer Youth Programme were held on 25th January. Co-organised by the cross-border territorial cooperation programme INTERREG POCTEFA, these seminars, one in French and the other in Spanish, aimed to present the IVY initiative, a pilot project managed by the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR), in collaboration with the European Commission.
Claudia Guzzon, IVY volunteer at Interreg Sudoe, and Sophie Royer, IVY volunteer at Interreg POCTEFA, shared their experiences, highlighting the impact on their personal and professional development.
About 50 people participated in these webinars, asking questions about the tasks assigned to the volunteers, the pre-requisites, the terms of participation and administrative and financial aspects.
Among the speakers, Gianluca Comuniello, representative of DG REGIO, stressed the "positive feedback about the initiative from both the Interreg community and the young people". For its part, Martin Guillermo Ramirez, Secretary General of the AEBR, highlighted the importance of this kind of initiatives for a greater cohesion of the European project.
Interreg Volunteer Youth
Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) is a pilot initiative, part of the European Solidarity Corps, which was created to offer young Europeans - between the ages of 18 and 30 - the opportunity to volunteer in an Interreg programme or project. Its aim is to involve young people in the dissemination of the results of Interreg programmes, as well as the promotion of fundamental values of the European Union, such as solidarity and cooperation.
